Three Games with Dallas-Down to the Wire

Later I will explain my reasons for why Dallas is the Eagles No 1 Rival.  Last second losses like these in the past really bothered me.

1975-Game 6 at Veterans Stadium-Dallas won 20 to 17

The Philadelphia Eagles halted the Dallas ground game but Roger Staubach had a big day. He completed 27 of 50 passes for 314 yards and a touchdown. The key play was midway through the fourth quarter. The Eagles, leading 14 to 10, had the ball fourth and inches at the Dallas 12. They settled for a field goal, extending the lead to 7. However, Staubach brought them back with ten points. Had Philadelphia made the first down and only a field goal, at least they would had run four more plays. Tony Fricsh kicked a 42 yard field goal on the final play.

1986-Game 9 at Veterans Stadium-Dallas won 17 to 14

Randall Cunningham passed ran 14 yards for a touchdown and passed 15 yards to Mike Quick for another. That aside, Philadelphia yielded 10 sacks for 59 yards in losses. Raphiel Steptien kicked a field goal on the last play.

1997-Game 3 at Texas Stadium-Dallas won 21 to 20.

The Eagles blew a 20 to 9 lead in the fourth quarter. Holder Tommy Hutton fumbled a snap on the last play for what would have been a chip shot field goal. Not helping was the Eagles committing 13 penalties for 107 yards.
