The subject views are tremendous. The Empire State and Chrysler Buildings dominate the Manhattan skyline from either side. I start at Central Park and walk all the way to the Battery. As yet, I am not able to view Ground Zero. I was at the Pentagon on September 10th.
East Side-This river walk gives a picture of industrial side of New York as freighters come in and leave the city. Brooklyn of course is across the river. I keep looking for that Bulova watch sign but it evidently is no longer there-and neither is the watch company.
Hudson River-The view of the Hudson has less industry but more history. The Erie Canal made New York the major port of entry. Travelers went north on the Hudson and took the Canal to Buffalo on the way west. Palisades, NJ across the river was the sight of the famous duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr and the birthplace of Frank Sinatra.
