Book Ends for the Baltimore Colts 1981

Both the Baltimore Colts and the New England Patriots had 2-14 records in the subject year.   However, the Colts pulled an usual feat.  They beat the Patriots by one point in Week 1 and two points in Week 16.  They had a great season if their fans only considered those two games.

Week 1 at New England

Baltimore threw a two some ground attack against the Patriots.  Randy McMillan carried 16 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns.  Curtis Dickey carried 22 times for 80 yards.  For New England, Tony Collins hit the line 15 times for 81 yards.  Dan Hasselback caught six passes for 111 yards and a touchdown.  Colts 29 Patriots 28.

Week 14 at Baltimore

Bert Jones completed 17 for 28 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns. Don McCauley and Randy Burke each caught  five passes for 104 yards.  Ray Butler caught two passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Colts 23 Patriots 21.
