Winning the Superbowl

Earlier I stated that the 27 to 10 win over the Atlanta Falcons in the 2004 NFC Championship Game was biggest thrill I ever had in following the Eagles.  Now at 70, Super Bowl 52 pushes 2004 down to number two.   The victory over the Perennial Champion New England  Patriots was exciting with no real letup on any play.  Even the points after touchdown were no sure things.

The Eagles made only three  mistakes that I felt were critical  (1) a missed extra point after the first touchdown with Eagles in front 9 to 3. ( 2)  either Nelsen Agular or Anton Jeffrey baubauling a pass at the Patriot 5.  The interception on that play really hurt.  And (3) the missed two point conversion after the Philadelphia had gone ahead 38 to 33.

It would have gone down much easier if the Eagles had clicked  on the above plays.  I take victories in any form but I prefer it easy.

  1. Great game, and congrats to your Eagles, Leonard!! I was rooting for them too. Glad they came thru. Good game critique! That was too bad on the missed field goal. What a great game to watch!!  We’re all trying to stay warm here! Talk to you soon! Suzanne
